Review on ThreadNanny Black and White 3-PLY Polyester Sewing Quilting Serger Threads – High-Quality, Ten 1000-Yard Tubes by Hannah Curi

Strong thread but often breaks

This ThreadNanny black and white 3-ply polyester sewing quilt thread is strong but often breaks. I can't find my usual brand of filament in stock. They are supplied in a box of 10 spools of thread, 1000 meters per spool. You will receive 5 white spools and 5 black spools. The coils are short and thick, so don't be surprised. They do however contain the stated amount of thread and I prefer the shorter spools for storage and use on the sewing machine. This is a 100% polyester thread which I wanted because of the strength. It's strong enough and I haven't had any trouble breaking even when sewing at high speeds. However, it produces a lot of fluff. This is annoying because I have to constantly clean up the bobbin track. (A build-up of lint in your machine will result in bad stitching.) However, the price is very attractive and it does the job. Haven't used it on my serger yet but I assume it works fine apart from the lint problem. I'd recommend it for casual seamstresses for its durability and price, but if you sew a lot I suggest spending more on a brand that doesn't produce as much lint.

Pros
  • Embroidery thread and thread
Cons
  • No performance
