I bought a used Legacy with a slight coolant leak. It turned out to be the water pump seal. That's why I bought the water pump kit. The previous owner did all the timing belt/head gasket work but I didn't want to assume the old parts were good so I replaced the water pump and gasket. It comes with a metal crush seal. I liked that better than the particle pad that was on the pump that was already in the car. Because the seal particle was leaking. Everything went as it should! Works with no leaks! Hope it stays that way! Only driven a week, no problems with a coolant leak.
