The panels look great and are very different from any wall I've seen. If you decide to paint, they will take the paint well. If the paint is very thin, a touch up or a second coat may be needed to cover the areas where the first coat failed to adhere. If you spray, this is less likely to be an issue. I drew them in probably the most difficult way possible, coloring each raised square with a different color. Again, not difficult, but very tiring, and it's not the product's fault, it was just my decision to make it look better where I use it (in the bathroom). When you paint with multiple colors I had a hard time bleeding through the tape so I just went with a small foam brush and I liked the results. Tedious, but less frustrating than dealing with color bleeds. If paint bleeds, you can use latex paint remover without damaging the plastic (assuming you use latex paint, of course).
