I bought 2 of these about a year ago and threw them in a box in case I need them later. This year I decided to make Rock Tumbler and I picked one of these. The biggest/only issue I had was that the shaft size is 2mm while every cog I could find on Revain was 3.175mm so I had to search around. a bit, eventually found some on a hobby site and assembled a gearbox. This motor is very quiet for the speed it runs and has fantastic torque. I use it way below specs because I want it to last longer - I run it from a 9V 2A power supply which provides enough torque to start the toggle switch under load and even when stopped it outputs much less than its rated current (max rating is 5A at 12V or 60W, I stop at 18W which is less than 1/3 of that). Based on the amount of game I've played with it, I think running it at max power will overheat the motor and cause it to burn out, since it's rated for a drill it will only handle 60 watts for short pulses, and you will have to watch out for heat, but at 18 watts it works like a dream all day. I can stop it without overheating and now it runs 24/7 in the drum. 1 week no problem.
