This thing has been great. Step up from a Britta pitcher guys - we're all adults here.First, a review of this particular filter: it's not the easiest thing in the world to install so you should be at least a bit handy, and know that you'll need to lay on your back under the sink (I'd highly suggest having your significant other accidentally spray you with water and walk around in a suggestive bathrobe to make the installation more fun). But it does work very well, and once set up, doesn't leak or require any maintenance (other than the twice yearly twist-on-and-off changing of the filters). Now, I haven't had a different brand filter installed that I can compare this one to; so who knows maybe there's a better one on the market. But this one is doing everything I need and for a very competitive price. Now onto water filters in general (you can stop reading now if you don't care about this stuff): I did some (maybe a bit too much) research into filters, and basically the big divide is between two and three stage filters. What about the one little Britta filter with a handy pitcher you ask? FOH bruh - is basically what the experts say.So two stage filters like these usually use carbon to filter out chlorine and taste odors. Whereas three stage filters use reverse osmosis to further filter the water. But here's the thing, because of the slowness of the reverse osmosis, that water then has to sit in a holding tank, which subjects it to possible other contaminants. So ideally, you want a 2 stage or 4 stage (another carbon filter to run the holding tank water through) for your system.Obviously prices go up proportionally. A 2 stage made the most sense for me, since I get relatively clean tap water from my city, and I can't afford a much more expensive system.
