Type of review

bought this because of the NY Times Thewirecutters review that describe this filter as the best you could possibly find. got to say that from my own impression, the build quality seems very low and it makes me wonder how can it be that they are saving on the filter plastic quality but not on the filter performance?

Pros
  • Value for money, only thing I think is the flow of water is slow could be a bit faster.
Cons
  • Can be difficult to install for those without plumbing experience

Good filtered water, kinda slow.

Pros:-easy install-Good clean taste-Decent looking fixtureCons:-Slow (about .5 gal a minute)-Water will sit in filters so you won't get cold water. (That is all preference. I fill a container and put in fridge)-The fixture cover diameter is small, it doesn't completely cover my hole in the sink. The only real strike against it for me is how slow it is, but probably to be mostly expected for an in line multi stage filter. It does it's job, and does it well.

Pros
  • Invest in something more durable
Cons
  • Requires replacement filters every six months

Great filter be patient on the install

Works great with really good water flow.We have used a GE brand from Home Depot and a Britta from the same place. Both two stage filter systems. With each of those they were OK until you changed the filters. Then for some reason the flow rate dropped substantially. This one right off the bat has a better flow then either the GE or Britta. The install is a bit hard but just be patient and you will get it done. We have a farm sink so it was a bit hard to get the tube connected to our faucet. We…

Pros
  • Provides peace of mind knowing that the water you drink is safe and clean
Cons
  • May not fit into all kitchen sink spaces due to plumbing configurations

Works good for limited kitchen cupboard space

Does improve the taste of the water just remove the cheap battery it comes with and replace it with a good one if you don't want to hear the stupid beeping all the time after a couple of weeks

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • Initial cost may be prohibitive for some consumers

Very happy so far on my review.

Does a great job removing bad tastes from the water. Teed in the refrigerator and ice-maker. Let it run into a bucket for 20 minutes to flush the lines and icemaker run overnight to clean everything out there, ended up with great tasting ice and water.Easy installation. I used a VERY thin smear of vegetable oil on the orings to prevent tearing that another person mentioned.

Pros
  • Comes with an oil-rubbed bronze faucet that adds a stylish touch to your kitchen
Cons
  • Can be difficult to assemble without professional help

Great filter: my feedback

I had a plumber install this. The system works great and I'm very happy with it. I was using a GE system before but after a few years it was no longer working. GE came out with a new design that is terrible so i started looking around. This product had good reviews and was simple. I like that it also filters pharmaceuticals.

Pros
  • ‎1 year manufacturer warranty
Cons
  • Replacement filters can be difficult to find in stores

Really excellent filter for a five-person water-heavy home.

After about six months, I just replaced the filter cartridges for the first time and I must say I am extremely happy with this system. Our municipal water is highly variable and often smells like river water. I haven’t noticed a dip in taste or smell the entire time, even after the replacement reminder went off. It took me a couple of weeks to remember to order replacements and then replace them, but the water still tasted great. The only change was the water pressure dropped slightly toward…

Pros
  • ‎8.25 x 4.25 x 9 inches
Cons
  • Can be noisy when in use

Update: After another call to customer service, this rep said that they would cover replacing the line and spigot that had the mold inside it under warranty. I just had to pay the $8 shipping. I thought this was a very reasonable solution, so I'm happy with how they (eventually) handled it.My lesson learned going forward is going to be to try to clean the inside of the faucet every month or so.Original review:There is good and bad about this filter. The good:Water tasted good until it got moldyI

Pros
  • Ideal for households with children, pets or individuals with sensitive skin
Cons
  • May not effectively remove all fluoride from tap water

Clean Water and better than my RO/DI. Never easy to install

First, I've been through a lot of under sink water filters, from RO/DI to bulky 3 filter systems. NONE of them, including this one are easy to install IMO. The demos and instructions show how easy it really is, but they are done by pros with an empty cabinet to start with, all parts RTG, plus a hardware store is no doubt within a block away and opened 24/7. An RO/DI unit has a fatal flaw: It filters out everything including important minerals needed. Over the long haul this showed up in more…

Pros
  • Cost Efficient & Long Lasting - The most economical filter on the market at less than 10 cents per gallon filtered. Lasts for 6 months or 500 gallons before a replacement filter is needed.
Cons
  • Can be bulky and difficult to maneuver during installation

Cheap faucet, poor flow rate, but great tasting water

Faucet feels like it'll break with slightest pressure (hope kids handle lightly). About 20 seconds to fill 10 oz cup which makes it barely useable.I have another filtration system under the sink which flows same as any faucet in the house - may replace with that one.But water does taste better, so filters do work.

Pros
  • Like
Cons
  • May not effectively remove all contaminants from tap water

This thing has been great. Step up from a Britta pitcher guys - we're all adults here.First, a review of this particular filter: it's not the easiest thing in the world to install so you should be at least a bit handy, and know that you'll need to lay on your back under the sink (I'd highly suggest having your significant other accidentally spray you with water and walk around in a suggestive bathrobe to make the installation more fun). But it does work very well, and once set up, doesn't leak…

Pros
  • Top-Grade Components - Includes first set of filter and all parts required for DIY Installation - No plumber required.
Cons
  • Can be prone to leaking if not installed correctly

Doesn’t waste water!

I live in a desert area where having filtered water is a real plus. Reverse osmosis systems typically waste 4 gallons of water for every 1 gallon of purified water made and that doesn’t make any sense to me. This very simple two-stage filter system is easy to install and the filters change quickly when you need to. Mine get changed about every six months. We get great tasting filtered water that doesn’t waste water to produce.

Pros
  • Instantly Transform Ordinary Tap Water Into Clean, Extraordinary Water - Removes up to 99% of 77 contaminants while leaving healthy minerals so you can drink with confidence. This system will NOT reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS).
Cons
  • Oil-rubbed bronze faucet can be difficult to clean and maintain

The filtration and removal of any substance likely to change your health and some that are not yet recognized, like therapeutic medication traces in drinking water, are removed by this system, AND it has been simplified into a set of two canisters, rather than a cluster to change every year. Plus, it doesn't waste water doing it.

Pros
  • Provides fresh, clean drinking water straight from your kitchen sink
Cons
  • Can be time-consuming to maintain and replace filters over time

Customer service was great

I had some issues with the unit I ordered not working properly. Instead of returning, I called Aquasana customer service. They walked me through troubleshooting and sent out replacement parts. I talked to two different reps, who were knowledgeable and friendly. Now that it is working, we use it a lot. Definitely improves the taste of the water! It doesn't run super fast but that's expected with a multistage filter.

Pros
  • Easiest Filter Replacement - Replacements are engineered for ease. No need to disconnect hoses or water lines. Eco-friendly housing easily twists off for snappy replacement.
Cons
  • Can be difficult to replace the filters for those with limited mobility

Works Fine. Instructions Not So Great.

Installing filters under sink was ready and well documented. Installing the faucet piece was more of a challenge and I had to guess at what drill bit to use for drilling thru countertop. Other than that, it was easy to install. Water tastes good and the kids love it.

Pros
  • ‎Plastic
Cons
  • May not be compatible with all household water systems

Revainrating 5 out of 5

What if it doesn't work?

My filter arrived with one of the filter housings slightly damaged, but I failed to notice the damage until the housing and faucet were already mounted. I could have returned the whole thing to Revain, but I chose to call the company and talk to their Customer Service Department. I sent the pictures above along with a copy of my amazon invoice. Within minutes the representative I was talking with agreed to send a replacement part. This conversation took place mid-day on Wednesday; I received…

Pros
  • Low maintenance system only requires filter replacements every 6 months
Cons
  • May not be effective against all household chemicals and pollutants

30 Minute install, Great Filter

Been drinking Aquasana Filtered Water for more than 10 years. Taste is the best. Filtering can't be beat. This undersink filter was easier to intall than the one it replaced. I highly recommend.

Pros
  • Easy installation process that can be completed within minutes
Cons
  • May not effectively remove all viruses from tap water

Revainrating 5 out of 5

30 minute install, great taste and fast water flow

Since I already had an available hole in my countertop, this was a really easy installation - took me about half an hour total. Instructions were clear and easy to follow, faucet looks attractive and would blend with most kitchen styles, and water tastes great. Water flow is also surprisingly fast - I was concerned it might take a while to fill a glass, but not the case at all!

Pros
  • ‎1
Cons
  • May not effectively remove all pathogens from tap water

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No more carrying water bottles from the grocery store.

It came with all of the parts that were required for the install. This is actually a big deal. It saves a few extra trips to home depot. No problems with the install, very straight forward. The water tastes great and it is significantly a different taste than what comes out of the regular tap. !00% recommend.
