The other scanner is larger and good of its kind but this is my favorite scanner as the phone interface with the car section that plugs into the base of my steering column was excellent. So I'm sitting in my machine with the app open and this tiny element shown in the post has been connected. It immediately finds the source of my check engine and then gives me websites/videos that explain the problem to me so I have an idea of what to expect priced to fix it or buy a part and fix it your own . If you don't have a lot of money to spend on auto repairs and feel comfortable doing minor auto repairs yourself (which I do), buying this OBD will help you decide how to spend your money. Definitely worth the price.
