Very quiet except for occasional knocking on the sides of the cage when it's moving - which almost never happens and there are several solutions to this problem if it's you interfering, including screwing the mount to the cage wires using the included hardware, velcro, tape, etc. However, to safely and flexibly move the wheel to a different environment for our Syrian, we simply install it on the bottom of the cage. We have a Ferplast Favola and it fits snugly in the wheel arch of a manufacturer's bike that's too small for a Syrian. Our Syrian will not stop running on it! I like that it is so clear and simple and takes up practically no visual space in the cage. My only complaint is that the protective film on the mount is very difficult to remove and requires removing the bearing clutch which required a different head screwdriver than the one provided. However, it's okay!
