Review on IKURAM Roof Rack Carrier for Kayaks, Surfboards, and Skis by Brett Kolpack

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Damaged roof rack and missing parts

Error number one was ordering from the Amazon warehouse. He went to hell and he lacked the ratchet straps he needed to even use them. Revain gave me $15 off the missing straps, but I had to go to the store and buy them. Other issues: 1. The screw hole on one part of the bottom bracket wasn't big enough for the screw to go all the way in, so it needed some filing. The brackets also damaged and bent my front rail. Remember that these screws should only be hand tightened to avoid over tightening. In fact, they fell apart on the freeway and we had to stop several times to make sure they didn't slide off the car again. It also damaged my kayak because I had to tie it as tight as possible. The bracket screws are long and face the vehicle. Because of this, my hatch didn't open fully. Luckily I read other reviews to at least check first and make sure the sunroof wasn't scratched. Of course this is packed for return. I simply tie the kayak directly to the roof rails. You get what you pay for.
