Review on Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens: Ultimate Performance for Canon SLR Cameras by Bogdan Shahanski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like the product very much, fully consistent with my expectations.

It is significantly sharper than its predecessor at ALL settings, and 2.8 is really effective! I'll compare it to the 70-200 2,8 without the stabilizer of the first iteration, which I shot from 2022; before then, there was still the 100-300, the same "live" juicy. It's a little heavy, especially if you carry it around all day, but this is probably not a disadvantage. I bought a Canon 135 f2.0, which is much smaller and lighter, especially if you have a modern camera with a lot of IHL and you work or are very passionate about photography. Autofocus has gotten faster, especially against the sun (contrast, flare, artifacts).

Pros
  • the entire image, the aperture, the stabilizer, the sharpness at all F values, the build quality and dependability, all-weather performance, and the FR's adaptability.
Cons
  • Quite heavy, particularly with 1DX
