My Civic needed a new air filter and previous experience with K&N has been very positive so I invested in it. While I have a hard time believing the K&N dyno chart for the 1.5 engine, I can tell you that there is a significant increase in torque and throttle response low down, which is ideal if you drive conservatively. I didn't feel anything in the upper frequencies, but the soundtrack got better :-) My only gripe is that for $120 you'd think you were getting a tube going from the filter to the manifold. Instead, you have to reuse the rubber hose from the old intake system, which looks cheap and is difficult to install on the bent piece it gives you. Which makes me think of all the other things I could have bought instead. $120 buys a lot of used CDs, MGS4 and GTA4 etc. It may not have made much of a difference in testing, but still, molded plastic can't be THAT expensive. It's worth it in the end, but I really hope your Civic has enough life left to make it worthy.
