They are extremely bad for their purpose. They don't stick together. General. The shapes don't even come close. The gap is just big enough for the thorn bush to squeeze in and get stuck. Everything else will go straight through. Anything else could probably drag him down. In all of this, I use them under hardscape before setting them in the substrate. Saves money on substrate and spreads the weight of large rocks. You can also glue the hardscape first to make sure it doesn't tip/shift/fall off. I once made a moss wall with suction cups and it didn't work. I ended up taking it out, but I think it would have worked if it had been glued/siliconized. They are very easy to cut/snap into place with almost any household pliers. For this purpose they are excellent and I can only recommend them.
