Review on BBK 3518 Performance Exhaust Expedition by Antonio Parson

Four stars can be a lot

to not start the delivery. Item came much earlier than expected and in good condition. I have been ordering BBKS since I bought some other products and have been very satisfied so far. Quality; For starters, the chrome didn't cover each of the header pipes. It only covered the visible sides but had to cover the entire outer surface of the heads. I know you don't see it, but this coating will help the header last longer if it has something covering the entire outside surface. I spent a good 3 hours modifying my EGR pipe to fit these BBK heads. When I bolted the stock downpipe to the headers, I had to expand the two new bolts outward as they were tightly pressed together. Note that I had to do this on both sides to connect my "stock" exhaust system. When I wanted to install the engine oil dipstick, I had to modify the tube to accommodate the manifolds. I noticed that another owner of these heads cut the manifold flange to accommodate it. I also had to use a file on the driver's side engine block as the head would not sit flush with the head. Fortunately, this only had to be done on the surface that could handle it, otherwise it would be a deal breaker. After installing them, I had to wrap the head to prevent the driver's side head from melting the shift cable. If I hadn't wrapped it up after a while I would have bought a new cable. I didn't use the spacers that came with it as they weren't just steel. I found some very good 3-ply "weird" gaskets at Revain and couldn't have made a better purchase for these manifolds. I used the screws that came with it. Results; Everything except that they are installed. My truck has noticeably more power. It took a while to install them, but they were really essential for my application. Direct landing I would say no. Although that's why I chose these headings. BBK really needs to investigate how they make these straight forward headlines. My exhaust system is not stock but my exhaust pipe and its position has never changed since it left the factory, in fact it is the same pipe. Will I recommend you? I guess I have to ask if you have time to fit them to your truck or do you really want something that due to the design of the headers will screw in with no problem? If I had known all of this was going on, I would have selected the stream master headers. Since then I've been driving my truck around town and they're starting to turn blue. I'll have to give an update after towing the boat or loading wood and driving over 10 miles to know exactly how they will look. This was the last update on my list. I have a 2001 F-150 5.4L long deck, electric fans, dual row heavy duty radiator, external oversized transmission cooler, BBK underdrive pulleys, 75mm throttle body, computer chip, K&N air duct kit, BBK oversized transmission sump , 160 thermostat, custom duel exhaust from rear headers, F-350 3.73s rear axle, custom overdrive springs, coil dampers, large folding side mirrors and shifters to keep everything under control. Most of this list was bought by Revain. Thank you for the easy access to parts for my tractor. Happy sending everyone!
