This is a great replacement for the standard 12 inch trailer magnetic drum brakes. Replacing the pads, hardware, and magnet on the drum brake will only cost you about the same amount of money, and replacing the entire assembly is a lot easier. They bolt on and work great with my existing drums. The devices are pre-assembled and delivered ready for installation. This includes new mounting nuts and some weather conditions. Dielectric grease was already in the electrical connections. The self-adjusting mechanism looks like it works pretty well, but it's cable actuated and is probably the first point of failure for these brake assemblies. .
