First thought of this lens - it's small! Especially for f/2.8. Not only is it small, but it's also very light, but that doesn't mean it's not durable, as I (accidentally, of course) banged it against a door and it fell about 4 feet and was still chugging. The pictures he takes are sharp. I did notice that he eventually found it difficult to focus in very low light, but that may have been an anomaly as I went out to take the same shot the next day and had no problems whatsoever. Probably user error and I don't remember the settings I used. I really like the aperture ring. I love that you can make it smooth or clicky. I haven't decided yet what I like best. Clicking lets me go back quickly, and smoothing lets me fine-tune. Overall this lens is great. I have used it on my A7C and also on my A7R3. The A7C is the ultimate portable powertrain. Ultra light and ultra compact. Model A7R3 has a large frame. Definitely nice to have the opportunity. Lives on the A7C but frequents my A7R3 when I need to grab a few other lenses but space is limited, perfect for the role of getting the right shot. Disclaimer: I bought this lens at a reduced price in exchange for my honest opinion.
