I recently reorganized my office and placed my photo printer in wire racks in the corner opposite the computer desk. For one of the printers, this is not a problem as it supports WiFi, but the other printer, the Epson R1800, only supports USB. I first tried the Iomega Print Server but it was DOA. The light was on, but nobody was home. My second attempt to connect to a USB printer was with a long USB cable. no-go Windows does not recognize the printer. After doing a little more research I came across USB over Ethernet and was looking for such devices and found this. It worked right out of the box. plug and play No software to install or configure. Connect one end of the supplied USB cable to the computer's USB port and the other end to the transmitter module. Connect the network cable from the transmitter to the receiver, plug the receiver's power supply into an outlet and into the back of the receiver. Then plug your USB device into one of the receiver's four USB ports and you're done. As an added bonus, I was also able to move the photo scanner to wire shelves and I can use both at the same time.
