I thought all those protrusions would allow the cob to float slightly in the air to drain and dry. The Korky Beehive Max does not sit on any of the moldings, only on the underside. Thus, no air gets into the bulb, and it just sits in a puddle of something. I think I can quickly piece together a better solution using an empty gallon of water or a milk jug and something to keep the plunger off the bottom surface. For a different piston that actually gets suspended off the ground, I think this would be a good choice. But I can't tell you which piston models work this way.
