I want to say that all cables are the same, and those who buy anything other than the cheapest are fools. That was my belief a few months ago. However, when I connected my laptop to a second monitor, the picture quality was so poor that I considered buying a new monitor. Ghosting, some color distortion, general lack of clarity/resolution. After researching online, I realized that some of these problems could be caused by other electrical interference, so I tried keeping the cable away from other electronics - it mostly worked, except it was a logistical nightmare. My desk has an ethernet cable, a power cord, a headphone cable, and a monitor power cord. That's a lot of interference. I finally bought this cable out of desperation - and lo and behold, it WORKS. It's really resistant to interference! It can be plugged into my laptop's power cord all day and the image quality doesn't suffer at all. Images are brighter, sharper and best of all: no ghosting! To sum up, if you need a VGA cable or have picture quality issues with what you have now, buy one of these! They are amazing!
