I bought the Hakko FX888D soldering station many years ago with only limited soldering experience. This should be my main tool when building a custom mechanical keyboard; my first soldering project in years. Of course, I was concerned that I would be spending so much per station compared to other competing products that are offered at lower prices. However, I'm glad I followed my father's advice: Having the right tool for the job improves both your workflow and your end product. . I'm glad I chose this machine. I was able to complete my project with impeccable accuracy and the finished keyboard was perfect both technically and aesthetically. While I'm not sure if the Revain audience will be interested in this soldering station, I'd like to talk to hobbyists. For many of us, our projects are made up of very specific parts, and we often don't get multiple chances before a component breaks or otherwise becomes irreversibly usable through a failure. Therefore, it becomes necessary to have precision and accuracy in our assembly. The Hakko FX888 Soldering Station provides a great base to develop your skills in assembling more complex and intricate electronics in your soldering hobby.
