Review on OXO Good Grips Strainer Stopper by Devin Bro

I've been using this filter only version for many years and while it wasn't perfect it did the job well so I immediately went after the 2 in 1 filter /stopper grabbed . the version where I broke the classic style stainless steel plug. Unfortunately, this model has some disadvantages: 1. As a filter, it is not good at filtering out smaller particles and also easily clogs with the amount of material that any other filter would easily handle. The sink I put it in recently clogged, although the old strainer never clogged, which makes me wonder if the strainer is just not working well. 2. The rubber parts get very slippery and need frequent cleaning (this was one of my complaints about the single filter model).3. It is too difficult to clean because the lower part that allows it to work like a cork only has a small opening to access the inside. This wouldn't be such a big problem if it weren't for the small particle and slimy gum passage issues mentioned above. You can pull out the side of the filter to find a place to slide a sponge in, but it's inconvenient and tedious to fully clean and spending an inordinate amount of time cleaning the filter/plug is just not what i want to do.4. The stopper is really easy to accidentally hook as a light tap on the handle is enough to turn it. The lip is too high causing a small amount of water to pool around the edges unless you remember to lift it up each time to let the water through.
