Review on Metra 70-8113 Amplifier Integration Harness for Toyota Vehicles (2000-2004) – Select and Optimize Your Car Audio System by Matthew Nielsen

Got this for my Toyota Avalon 2002 XLS. First I connected everything. it does not work. The display and buttons worked and glowed, I was able to connect via BT but there is no sound. Had to pull teeth to get more info to make it work. I was almost ready to put it in my car stereo and pay the butcher bill to install it when I thought of calling Crutchfield (where I bought my receiver). The guys there were SUPER helpful. They let me know my problem was probably the blue striped wire on the wiring harness and they suggested I connect both straight blue wires to the white striped wire to get the audio working. Nowhere in the instructions for the harness or receiver was this suggested, and I'm new to doing it myself so never thought of trying. TL; DR Connect the blue/white strip to the blue wires. I wish the guide had more details and/or how to shoot videos on YT or something.
