Review on πŸ”“ Flexible Removable Platform for Ultra 235X235MM Printing by Fred Griffin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My first use of a removable surface and it revolutionized my printing.

I have never used one of these detachable surfaces and to be honest it wasn't necessary as my Delta printer has a permanently mounted platform from which I could lift the printer without affecting them. even. This is not the case with my newly built CoreXY and in order to remove the part the bed has to move after each push as pressure is applied to remove the part(s). To alleviate that need, I decided to try one of these 310mm x 310mm BIQU platforms and decal, even though my bed is 330mm x 330mm. A set this size was almost double the price and I only lost 10mm on each side so I gave it a try. WOW! The possibility of !HOT! Plate, bend the part and bring back the plate in a revolutionary way. The initial pounding of the bed later showed that the level of the bed hadn't changed, so I'm now printing piece by piece and checking from time to time. Excellent! Both surfaces were beautiful and uniform in appearance and no problem with the deformed plate. I mainly print ASA which warps easily when printed so I use glue stick to ensure a good grip and keep a good layer on many prints. Small parts could be printed without him, but my first large part was picked up and released without a wand. I haven't printed any other filaments yet (Nylon, Delrin, TPU) but I will leave a layer of glue stick. Would buy again and actually plan on buying a second flex plate to accommodate nylon/delrin printed parts that need to cool so they don't warp when removed hot.

Pros
  • Easy to use and versatile
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
