I used to buy a $10 Philips T4 wall light from Home Depot (as shown in the attached picture). When I compare the amount of light from this regular bulb to a Philips bulb, they seem to have the same brightness (lumens) which is very important to me as I like them very bright. One of the differences between this universal lamp and the Philips lamp can be the power consumption. The Philips bulb's packaging says it's a 100-watt replacement, but it only uses 75 watts, while this regular bulb is 100 watts. The only other factor I can think of is that I don't know which bulb will last the longest. Because this versatile lamp costs significantly less than a Philips lamp and because they have the same or very similar brightness levels, I highly recommend this lamp.
