Review on Canson Artist Montval Watercolor Paper by Kristen Simpson
Cheap paper, cheap quality.
I am a professional artist who ordered 2 rolls of this paper. Both rolls were slightly damaged, especially at the ends. Paper does not hold water well even after sizing. More than 2 layers and it starts shedding fibers and tearing. It also bursts with masking fluid. I would not buy this paper for paintings that you intend to put a lot of time or effort into. Too bad I just gritted my teeth and bought the Arches brand, even though it's much more expensive. However, I think it would be useful for quick experiments or palette paper.
