I picked up a box of these for an upcoming camping trip. When they arrived, I popped one open and activated it to see how it worked. They put out a nice bright glow that I could use to navigate dark rooms in my house. They aren't lanterns, obviously, so don't expect them to light up the night, but they do cast plenty enough light to cast shadows and make it easier to get around in the dark.They claim to glow for 12 hours. The stick I tested actually glowed far longer than that. Granted, by 12 hours, it was noticeably dimmer than when fresh, but it was still clearly visible and putting off enough light that it could be useful.
