I have been looking at this lens and reviews about it for a long time, and I kept thinking whether to take it or not to replace Keith. As a result, free 20k appeared in my pocket and the desire to get a new toy won over common sense and I became the owner of this lens. After playing around and comparing it directly with 18-55 and 18-135, I can say the following: Yes. The lens is better than kit lenses in all respects. A little better contrast, a little more accurate focusing, a little better colors and sharper photos, but not because of the quality of the optics itself, but because it has a better stabilizer. In difficult conditions, where 18-55 is already starting to give blur, 15-85 still gives clear photos. There is a wide angle and it’s already possible to take selfies with this lens (It’s important for me, because I often travel alone in wild places) There is an ultrasonic motor and focusing on it is really very quiet. The lens itself is tightly fitted and there is no backlash or dangling in it. But after listing all this, I’ll still say that after the purchase I was a little disappointed, because in the quality of the photos I didn’t see a significant advantage of this lens over the usual Keith. Yes, he is a little better than Keith in everything, but this is a little in everything IMHO does not justify his price. And yes. He is very heavy. Heavier than 18-135.
