Simply use a rag on the quick connector to create a good seal. Never use more than 4 turns of Teflon tape on PVC fittings or the plastic fitting will tear. I just used non-curing silicone so the o-ring is secure and lasts longer. GROHE said not to replace the flexible hose. It turned out that my hose was leaking (dripping) which got the quick connector wet. I ordered a GROHE OEM hose because my old hose was 14 years old. Just buy the original, you can't afford to lick. So when you change the hose, you change the quick connector or visa. If your faucet has a low flow rate, it's probably not a faucet valve. Dirt enters the check valve in the quick coupling.
