First off, we got this backgammon set for our teen that loves games and has been taught to play backgammon and loves the game. This is their review of the set. The wood work is pretty and nice, but the game itself can be problematic. There are no magnets on the playing pieces themselves, so if the table gets bumped or the game gets moved in anyway, the pieces go every which way. Where you store the pieces when you are not playing it, there is no cloth or any cushioning so when you close it and move the board it makes a bunch of banging and clanging, and the pieces get all disoriented. When it first arrived, it was stinky, so we left it out of the bags and box for several days and the odor dissipated. This set does give you three extra checkers of both colors just in case they get lost, which is a very nice touch! Other than that, our teen says this set is nice, and they enjoy using it. Thank you for reading this review, and I do hope you found it helpful!
