Review on ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Enhance 3D Printing Precision with ExcelFu Length Extruder Makerbot Printer by Robert Sisco

Can be useful for thermal blocks, but no more.

Good: Injectors. They seem to look ok, I've attached photos compared to another nozzle I bought cheap on Amazon. The hole looks relatively clean and has a slight chamfer on the back. Thermoblocks - basically they are fine. My printer came with a heater block that had two set screws to attach the heater while this block only has one, but I don't see that as a big issue, I had no trouble connecting the heater. Outside. There's an M3 thread on the side with a screw that supposedly holds the thermistor. You can get m3 thread thermistors but if they are not the same as the thermistors that came with your printer you will need to flash the firmware to compensate. Next to the M3 thread is a small hole where you can insert the glass bead thermistor found in most printers, although mine had a small brass bushing on the end to protect the glass bead. To attach the thermistor if you have one like I do you will need to remove or reinstall the socket at the end of the thermistor, insert the bead into the main unit and then use the supplied M3 screw to clamp. down on the wires to put it in place. This makes me a little nervous as I'm afraid of damaging the thermistor wires. They are thin and look like thin sleeves on the inside. Bad side: throat tube. The throat tube is practically useless. The Teflon seal inside the hose is too short. So when installed in a nozzled fuser it will not seal and plastic will leak out of both the bottom and top of your fuser which is unsightly and will ruin your prints. I noticed this problem after my first print or two when my prints had random plastic specks and artifacts that couldn't be explained otherwise. I have a hard time seeing the hot end of my printer as there is a 360 degree partial fan around my thermal block, but as soon as I checked I knew immediately that this was my problem. If the neck does not close against the nozzle, it should not be used. The main reason for this purchase was that I needed replacement tubes and my printer's original supplier was taking too long to ship. Once I got them I should have just gone that route and waited, or if I knew better I should have gone to the micro center to get some tubes for ender3 as those will work too. At that time I didn't know that the micro center had spare parts for 3D printers. I don't have an ender3, but many parts are compatible and interchangeable. Save your time and effort and buy something else. I wish I could.

Pros
  • Accessories for 3D printers
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
