solid chrome plated metal, very well finishedcame with two small tubes of adhesive "fixall", only needed half of one tube. adhesive is whiteglue is strong after 24 hours, strong enough to adjust the ball joint without ripping the fixture off the wallball joint is solid, no play or grindingfit my 'standard' 1/2 inch shower hose perfectlysmall slot on backplate to pry off the fixture if you ever need to move it
