I have a stainless steel KitchenAid that is probably 10 years old. I've done many repairs, but this one amazed me. It stopped in the middle of a cycle. But my first test of this fuse showed it was a good conductor and when I turned the washing machine back on the control panel lit up and I started it again. Another error in the middle of the loop. This time the fuse blew. The replacement is not difficult, and there are videos on the Internet on how to do it. Two full cycles so far and all is well. The list of repairs I had to do is: Chopper assembly x3, Heater with upgraded control board, Chopper driveshaft, Rack guide wheels x 2. As long as it's easy to fix I'll keep going. I'm not sure why it exploded. The motor can get old and draw too much current. Or maybe an upgraded heating element with more power/heat is the culprit. But why would he work for more than a year and suck now?
