Review on ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Enhance Your Printer with the Innovative BIGTREETECH Display Controller by Patrick Reid

Bad quality control.

I usually trust Teaching Tech's Michael Lowes when it comes to 3D printing when it comes to purchasing decisions, but this time I think I was a little better . The screen I ordered arrived well packaged and looked new due to the sealed anti-static bag, but the screen itself was mounted at the wrong angle. There is a screen printed box that is obviously intended to aid the build tech in mounting the screen to fit the Stock Ender 3's mounting frame, but it seems that it completely ignores the screen's orientation and sticks it to the circuit board smacked. no matter how fast they made these things, and somehow they passed every quality check, if any. The foam tape holding the screen is very strong and you will most likely break the glass before peeling it off and putting it back on. So that's out of the question. The protective plastic sheet on the touchscreen looks like it's been grabbed by a dog, so apparently they're doing these things as fast as they can, tossing them in the trash, and hoping at the volume some of them turn out ok. Built into the bezel, there is a large gap on the left side of the screen, and the entire screen is slanted. It looks horrible. There is not enough clearance in the mounting screws to even slightly adjust them to align. I cannot and will not currently recommend anything from BigTreeTech. Don't bother buying and returning things in the hope of getting a good product. They need to do some serious work on their quality control practices before I will consider buying anything else.

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
