Review on πŸ”΅ Milescraft 1210 Small Circle Compass - Enhanced Router Circle Cutting Jig by Jorge Bryant

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So easy to use it's scary

It takes a bit of getting used to, but ends up being very easy to use. The first two things to notice right away are: First, don't drill the pilot hole for the center screw too deep. If you do that, the screw doesn't have enough material to attach to and the whole thing shifts onto you. Second, if you're making inserts that require you to scrape off the rest of the material AFTER trimming the outside edge, PAY ATTENTION TO THE DEPTH. When the router is on the mount, its height will be different than when it is powered off. ie I cut out the outer edge of the circle, removed the router from the template and tried to clean up the rest of the circle and the CHISEL GOED DEEPER! I did NOT take into account the thickness of the jig. A lot of pain and I had to discard two really good pieces of wood. But it's about me and my novelty with the tool.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Doubtful
