Lathe mandrel is great! But the shoulder trimmer is terrible! It's not very sharp, so it takes a lot of force to cut through hardwood. Worse, he's swinging like crazy. I have resharpened 4 pencils since purchase, 3 of which were made with a 7mm trimmer. But the last feather was larger in diameter, and the beating was still there when the shoulder was cut. This ends up leaving a horribly uneven surface due to this wobbling. I bought this set because it was a cheap start and since I'm very happy with the turning bar I'm happy with the purchase. But I need to upgrade the trimmer because it's just not up to date.
