Not the same as the Apple adapter. It's not plug and play. You need to connect the lightning charging cable to the adapter to power the iPhone to recognize it, and then the iPhone will ask if you want to trust this device and enter your passcode. This is very suspicious. Why does the HDMI adapter need to download an app and trust the accessory?
