Review on Dometic Duo Therm RV Air Conditioner Shroud: Revamp your Old Style with ICON Brisk Air by Sean Skinner

I bought this icon to replace Dometic dou-therm. Arrived quickly, but I disagree with the claim that it's thicker and better than the manufacturer's original equipment. It was the same thickness as the original, many of the mounting holes did not match and none were drilled for the rear. I could live with overdrilling the holes, but I noticed a big difference in the side vents. Although the products appear the same in the photos, each vent is half the width of the real thing. I'm in the desert and there is NO way to halve the airflow through the coils! Packed and returned. I think it might work well if you never turn on the AC in hot climates. Follow my original review. I bought an OEM replacement cap from Dometic for $30 more. It was a precise fit and the vents were exactly the same size. Also included were new screws, instructions, and new foam strips to seal the back of the unit to allow all air to flow through the cooling fins. Yes, it was more money, but compared to the Icon brand, my air conditioner is working at its maximum capacity. Saving a few bucks upfront would have cost me a fortune in efficiencies.
