This is an ineffective deburring tool. It takes significant effort to achieve any sort of cutting action, and even then I couldn't help but get a smooth cut surface. With my finger I could feel small burrs on the cut surface which I believe may have damaged the Sharkbite o-ring. I had to touch up the end of the tube with sandpaper to remove the burrs on the first two tubes. After that I switched to another instrument. Sharkbite fittings are very good but quite expensive so I didn't want to risk using burr hoses no matter how small they are. The tool is useful but not essential for marking the depth of the insertion line. However, this tool should only cost a few dollars. Considering the high quality of Sharkbite fittings and the fact that they use o-rings which cannot be damaged, I am very surprised that they offer such a poor tool. This tool can help increase sales by getting people to replace leaky fittings with damaged o-rings, but it can also result in lost sales as Sharkbite fittings are unreliable because they leak. As I just said, I really like Sharkbite hardware. I just hate their deburring tool. Shame on you!
