Review on Tokina 12 28Mm AT X Lens Nikon by Kevin Singleton

I always buy units after carefully researching each item online. At the time this lens was released, 11-16/2.8 seemed like the best option for a DX width, also from Tokina. Then this lens came along, and while it was still fresh on the market and didn't have as many reviews as 11-16, the fact that it went all the way to 28 (a unique zoom range in a wide-angle lens) made me give it a shot and buy it immediately. It turned out to be a great investment. Despite being a notch slower than the 11-16, its visual and design qualities are just as good (if not better) than its 11-16/2.8 predecessor. The lens is built like a tank and stands out from all other similar third-party lenses. I have no complaints about focus or sharpness with this lens and it makes my D7000 look good, especially with the included lens hood: I recommend this product to all DX users. Now I can say that my line of lenses is complete with my 35/1.8 DX, 50/1.2 Ai-S (FX = 75mm on D7000) and 80-200D-ED (FX is 120-300). I love each of them but Tokina is my favorite. take one
