Review on Marinco CS6364N 50 Amp, 125V//250V Connector for Enhanced SEO by Kyle Costello

The second worked but the set screws were poorly designed

I ended up having to return my first one but the replacement works fine. In the first, when I tightened the set screws on 2 of the 4 clamps, the threads were stripped. I opened up the connector and there is a "D" shaped piece of metal where the flat side folds in half and a set screw screws into it. The two layers separate a little, then the set screw won't go into the second layer, and when you tighten it you'll strip the threads on the first layer. My advice: tighten the set screws before inserting the wires. and make sure they travel light. Make sure the screw has already penetrated both layers of metal before tightening. The box I bought for this connector used hex head screws and I tightened them as tight as I could. I didn't dare try this one after seeing how little metal there is to grab a set screw. I still think it's safe, but I think they should redesign the terminals to handle harsher environments.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Not the best
