I just bought my first drop handlebar bike since I was a teenager. I'm 50 now. All-road gravel bike. I had to order it sight unseen due as no one has much of anything in stock right now. When I first got on the bike I was certain I had made a huge mistake. It was extremely uncomfortable being that far forward. I had way too much weight on my shoulders and hands. Original stem was 90mm. Just adding this 70mm stem with a 35 deg rise made a very noticeable change. I am much more comfortable on the bike now. I still may end up going with a hybrid style bike due to having back and shoulder issues, but it's too early to tell yet. But had I not installed this I wouldn't be able to ride that gravel bike at all.
