Review on πŸ“· Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM Lens: A Versatile and Sharp Choice for Professional Photography by Stanislaw Bieroza ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

I bought it a few months ago specifically for a future vacation, and ofcomurse I immediately began to actively shoot. Examples of photos in my album what can I say after use. His sharpness is quite "soft" whencompared with 70-200, then none at all. Elka is sharp even sometimes too much. But this one is more "feminine" or something. You don't have to work as hard on the skin, which is definitely a plus. Quite decently draws a person in height and to the waist. Larger angles, which is naturally not for him. At first there was a feeling that I wasted money in vain, but after I got used to it a little, I changed my mind. Just at first it was unusual to work at such a focal length. Landscapes, for which you actually took it, you can see here ?. I took it for this too. My advice is to buy a "polar" and a "medium gray" filter for it, which I actually did, and then you will get the maximum result. In my landscape album, everything is shot with a polarizing filter. Not bad for reporting. On mine, there seems to be a small back focus (+5). It doesn't matter, Icomrrected it on the carc and that's it. In a word, a normal lens. For me, it fully met my expectations. I like 70-200 more, but this one is a must-have. When there is not enough space, a wide angle helps a lot, and in the dark, it also has excellent performance (I tried it at 1600 and did not disappoint). In short, my advice is to take it.

Pros
  • Quality made. There are no backlashes. The USM motor is, as expected, fast and quiet. Does not dust. Lightweight and compact.
Cons
  • Chromatic aberrations are observed. There is no hood in the kit and it is extremely difficult to find it.
