Review on Samsung P2370HD 23-inch Full HD Monitor by Fong Hicks

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Lots of features but some don't work

The display quality is very good for a TN panel. Viewing angles were better than expected. At first I was fed up with going from my previous 16x10 monitor to this wider 16x9 display. This turned out to be beneficial for me as the large 16x9 display offers a good ratio for viewing 2 documents side by side, which I do a lot. My laptop has HDMI output but the picture is very blurry when connected to this monitor. Looks like a smaller resolution has been changed. I've tried every setting on both the laptop and the monitor to resolve the issue. This issue was addressed by using an HDMI to DVI adapter to use the monitor's DVI input port. This means I need an extra audio cable to use the monitor's speakers. The speaker volume is loud, but the audio itself sounds muffled. The speakers face down towards your desk. The touch buttons for power/volume/source/setting are really bad. There is a delay after pressing the power or source button, so sometimes I accidentally press the button twice thinking my first press didn't register, which is very annoying. Because of this, I usually use the included remote control to perform a function. No height adjustment. I bought a stand to elevate this monitor 4 inches because the display was too low and I felt like tilting my head too much to look at the bottom of the screen, which is what I do all the time when all apps are pinned to windows taskbar. . The stand feels flimsy, but it's good enough. It is very difficult to tip it. It only reclines 20 degrees. Does not lean forward. I don't recommend using the tilt as it's a TN panel, it's very interesting to look at. Forward. Now there are almost no displays that can do what the P2370HD can do, but some features aren't implemented very well.
