They work as advertised and expected. It seems a bit pricey as are the tracks. If the longer track wasn't so expensive I would buy it. Instead I bought a second short rail and this bushing. I am not disappointed and recommend this solution. I use a set to connect two 55" Makita rails. They fit perfectly with no problems. It would be better if they came with instructions, or at least a picture of how to use them, as it's not immediately obvious. The two parts must be used together. One has holes for set screws, the other is slightly shorter. I slide them into the guide together and tighten the set screws to force the pieces apart by pushing them against the top and bottom of the T-slot. Reviews. I'm glad I didn't. A set works well. There is another slot at the top of the rail so you can use two sets if that makes you more comfortable. However, since there is little or no lateral force on the rail when sliding the saw over the top, it feels like overkill. I find it stiff enough with just one set and haven't had any alignment issues. I get perfectly straight cuts with no indication of where the traces converge.
