Review on ☀️ Nemo Equipment Sun-Shelters Bugout Tent: Ultimate Outdoor Protection by Nolan White

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very dry and good mosquito, I could improve it.

Worked better in some weather conditions and locations than others: The roof tarp worked well in the rain, didn't drip through the tarp, kept us and our gear dry. However, the bottom corners of the tarpaulins collected rainwater, which we used for cooking and drinking. What these collected water bags do in gusts of wind will be interesting for the beta test. During our rain, the insect screen prevented rain from entering the shelter, probably due to surface tension: the raindrops just stuck to the screen. It would be interesting to test this again in a gusty downpour. There are 3-way zippers at the ends of the ridge, making this shelter convenient for camping in a hammock. These zips worked well, but if your camp is constrained by hard suspension between trees, it can make getting in and out difficult. The bottom of the screen was raised off the ground, allowing the beetles to penetrate the mass even with all stake loops secured; So our field modification was to suspend the ridge underneath and create a strip of screening material at ground level to be covered with rocks and logs: this secured the bottom of the screen walls and prevented the screen walls from being blown off the ground by the wind. However, lowering the tarpaulin walkway made it impossible for the tall members of our camp to stand upright, but we were able to sit and squat free from mosquitoes. The comb collar ring fabric tore on the second use but was still functional so it didn't leave us homeless in the wild. However, we weren't sure how long this would take, so the asylum was returned to Revane without drama.
