Initially I bought the charger and batteries without paying enough attention to the charger. I'm a musician and we use 9 volt batteries as they're going out of style so I went with rechargeable batteries. First let me say the batteries are superb and last a lot longer than a regular 9v battery. The first charger I bought wasn't a smart charger, so I had to watch my charge times to avoid undercharging or, worse, overcharging. This is not an easy task. It's a charger, plug in and go. The indicator light will show you when they are fully charged and it will not charge. Very happy with this purchase.
