Review on SharkBite U3008LFA Slip Coupling 2 Inch by Frank Garahana

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quick and easy installation

The 2021 Texas freeze led to an expected ruptured pipe on a line that runs inside a garage to a hose bib outside. Access to the tube was easy. After cutting the center of the break point, the ends were "rounded" to "round" to allow the pipe cutting tool to rotate cleanly around both ends. The shark bite was easy to install. Also, the end with the bib could be easily moved away from the fixed side of the tube. Install this end first, then install the fixed end by applying pressure to the bib from outside the home. For long-term use of solid pipe, you may need two Shark Bites to make the job easier. We were able to fix the pipe in 30 minutes, including searching (cutting out sections of drywall to find the exact location of the leak). It leaked at first, but that was because I hadn't seated it enough. With the Orange Shark Bite Removal Tool I was able to start fresh and everything was fine. This tool should come with the Shark Bite. We also recommend buying the 3 inch (length) or 6 inch version as it makes installation easier.
