Works where glue won't

I needed to install very lightweight vinyl shutters on my brick home. Numerous screws that came with the shutters seemed too heavy, plus I would need a special tool to drill through the brick/motor. So I decided to try Gorilla Outdoor Glue and it didn't work. Then I tried that. I placed the pieces on the hinge and although there was only a small ledge to attach the shutter to the brick it was enough. I then added painters tape to hold it in place while it cures. You have to hold it for a while so that it freezes and then everything is fine and you can let go. You should also check after a few minutes if a corner has occurred. It appears to be working, and although some tape is visible on the side, it's barely noticeable. now con Removing the red stripe from the tape is a hassle. I finally have tweezers to catch the red and start peeling. Although I tried various ways to remove the red plastic strip with my nails, it didn't work. I ended up ignoring her instructions and removed the red stripe and then placed it on the foil. Maybe it's the nature of the product, but be prepared to be disappointed in this area. Perhaps they should consider taping the edge onto the red so you have something to grab rather than picking and picking the tape and/or cutting the tape into smaller sections than having it on a roll.
