I bought this to replace a factory unit which caused a short and made my truck stink which seems to be a constant Ford problem. This device hooked up straight away and was easy to install. However, it does not activate the trailer brakes when the brake pedal is depressed. I can manually depress it and activate the trailer brakes, but they don't work when the brake pedal is used. I'll try a Ford OEM unit to see if my truck isn't the problem (blown fuse etc). I keep this as a reserve. Just in case the OEM unit decides to fry again and leave me on the road. Trailer brakes blocked.
