Review on Efficient Water Transfer: WAYNE PC2 Portable Pump with Suction Hose & Attachment in Black by Mark Hanson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

FALSE ADVERTISED - NOT AS PICTURED

In 2010 I bought a Wayne PC2 110v portable transfer pump from Revain for $72 plus loose change. It was delivered as shown in the photo still on the Revain website, specifically the CAST BRONZE chrome pump. It also came with a 6" 5000psi heavy duty suction hose with heavy duty brass fittings and the base plate of this pump has four bolt through rubber grommets which when the base is bolted down with any bolts or screws will effectively isolate the vibration. Very small and handy for pumping water from the 30 gallon barrels in the back of my truck to our storage tank.It still works great but I decided to get a second one to cut my draining time in half when I rent reindeer. edit.BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.The pump I received today is comparable to an old cheap second (or third) stage design. The new PC2 pump is made of "coated aluminum" without even mentioning the "coating". will look like 'chrome' The suction hose is a 6 foot length of cheap lightweight Cra_ standard type garden hose, non-magnetic end fittings which may or may not be brass but look like chrome The base plate has 4 small rubber feet with holes drilled into the base plate on each side (2 total) so that's all there is at this price point A facility that goes on Screwing or screwing these two holes WILL vibrate DIRECTLY and amplify the accompanying noise. 340 gph older at 2 amps Increased capacity does NOT make up for lower quality design changes Will update in another 10 years if the new one lasts that long!
