Heat shrink crimp connectors

This 580 piece connector set has 8 different connector types in 3 sizes that work from small 22 gauge wire to fairly thick 10 gauge wire. With an ok crimper and a heat gun, I was able to try all the sizes on a variety of things. i used the butt connectors to hook up a backup camera for my car, and the small 1/4 inch ring to attach a ground. The shrink tubing covers up any exposed wiring, and helps provide a bit of a strain relief, which helps keep the wire from coming loose from the…

Maybe OK for hobbies but far from professional grade.

I am a marine master technician and have been using this type of connectors since they were introduced some 30 years ago. These connectors would not last in a marine environment for long at all. The adhesive which is activated during the heating process is inefficient, containing maybe 1/2 the amount as a professional grade connector of the identical gauge.Secondly the actual metal crimping area is much smaller on the butt splices leaving much less contact area on the wire that has been…
